One of the most influential social media applications is video. As a digital agency, we recommend that you spend some time building your online video library. Video can be viewed on PowerPoint applications, websites, Facebook and YouTube.
At this time you can find video just about everywhere. You have the ability to reach thousands in new and varied ways, so how do you do that wtih confidence and without tripping over your laces?
Here is a list of things that you can do to prepare for your video presentation. As always they are simple, yet preparation is the key.
Content – make it interesting
Prepare – know what you want to say and keep your messaging short
Rehearse – practice makes perfect, just a few key messages
Style – conversational is always best in social media
Positive – positive messages are far better than negative
Relax – remember it’s just a camera
Smile – nothing is sweeter
Dress appropriately – solid colours best, keep the plaids and checks at home
Makeup – less is more
If you feel like you need some assistance, ask your agency for advice, content or assistance in preparation. If you're really nervous you can always hire a coach or media trainer. It can be expensive, but given that you will be speaking to thousands or tens of thousands it might be worth it.
Social Media pays, video is a significant segment, so don’t be afraid to embrace video. Get to know your videographer. Getting to know the person behind the camera allows for an easy and relaxed style that will allow you to tie up all the loose ends.
